Special aspects of modeling hysteresis losses in second generation high-temperature superconducting tapes and in power cables on their basis

Abstract
A numerical model based on the finite-element method (FEM) with the use of the ANSYS software [1] was developed to calculate the hysteresis losses in second generation (2G) high-temperature superconducting (HTSC) tapes and in power cables on their basis.
Specific aspects of modeling hysteresis losses in the superconducting layer of 2G HTSC tapes using the ANSYS software are presented.

Cables for structured cable systems (LAN cables) and optical cables, production forecast

Abstract
Assessment of the current state and production prospects for balanced (LAN cables) and optical cables for structured cable systems is presented in the paper. Reference is made to the fact that LAN cables and optical cables complement each other and find their application in broadband access networks.
According to estimates in the years to come LAN cables will be used along with optical cables for structured cable systems.

Computation algorithms for the process of cooling thin-wall and thick-wall cable polymer insulation are viewed upon, specific examples are given.
