I.A. Ovchinnikova, Dr. Sc.(Engineering), General Director of Ltd. "STCCI" (Scientific and Technical Center of Cable Industry), Full Member of the Academy of Electrotechnical Sciences
Abstract. The article presents an analysis of the changes that take place in the global optical fiber market, which directly influences the production and market of optical cables and consequently has an indirect effect on the global industry and economy as a whole. Consideration is given to the existing capacities for the production of optical fibers and preforms by region and manufacturer, the dynamics of consumption changes over the past few years with the identification of the key application areas and forecasts for production and consumption in the coming years are presented. The reasons for the sharp increase of the optical fiber prices are discussed and the further development of the situation in the global optical fiber market is forecasted.

Abstract. A comparative analysis of the design features and parameters of various types of radio frequency coaxial cables is presented. The advantages of cables with a tin-plated outer conductor are noted. The main parameters of the geometric, electrical, mechanical, and operational characteristics of cables that allow for multiple manual shaping are provided. The technological aspects of manufacturing the outer conductor are described. The results of developing a new range of semi-flexible radio frequency cables with a tin-plated conductor are presented. An experimental comparison of the developed cable parameters with imported counterparts is provided.

Abstract. The article presents the results of the scientific and research work aimed at improving the reliability of protected wires for 10–35 kV overhead power transmission lines. The analysis of the current regulatory document for protected wires in Russia and international standards is presented. The drawbacks of the existing designs affecting the reliability of power transmission lines are shown.
The authors suggest an enhanced three-layer design of protected wires. Comprehensive tests for tracking resistance, cross resistance, thermal and electrochemical ageing were carried out. It is shown that the modernized designs are superior to the basic ones in several parameters, including time to breakdown during electric cross and resistance to surface discharges.
The developed protected wires were tested in the trial operation on a 35-kV overhead line section in the Moscow region, where no emergency shutdowns were recorded during the autumn-winter period of 2023/2024.

Communication cables for the computer room of corporate data centers: the volume of the domestic market, the feasibility and possibility of localization of production, design features
A.B. Semenov, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Moscow State University of Civil Engineering (MGSU) National Research University, Moscow Technical University of Communications and Informatics
Abstract. Based on available statistical data, an estimate of the annual volumes of the domestic market of fiber-optic cables for building the physical level of the information infrastructure of the data center's computer room was made. A mathematical model of the computer room was proposed and 46 thousand kilometers were obtained with an average annual growth rate of 15 % in the horizon until 2030, which indicates the prospects of this market segment for the domestic industry. The design of the cables is specified in terms of the type of optical fibers used and their number. It is indicated that it is expedient to localize production through the offer of trunk cables.
