Abstract. This article presents the results of studies to determine the effect of thermal aging on the fire performance of crosslinked halogen-free compositions - oxygen index, total smoke emission and maximum heat release rate, determined by the method of conical calorimetry. Additionally, the methods of IR spectroscopy and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) were used. The results are presented in tables and graphs.

Yu.A. Demidov, Adviser to the General Director
Abstract. The article is concerned with the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in the production of cable products — from design and development to cable manufacturing.
The first part provides the background of the AI use in the industry: from the early expert systems to the concept of Industry 4.0. Examples of the use of AI in cable design are presented.
The methods of predictive maintenance, online quality control, optimization of extrusion and winding processes, robot automation and digital twins of manufacturing lines are described in the section devoted to the production.
In the conclusion part the results are summarized, the advantages, risks and recommendations for the introduction of AI in the cable industry are discussed. The article is divided into several parts following each other in a chronological sequence.
Key words: artificial intelligence, cable, cables, cable products, cable design, materials science informatics, generative design, digital twins, predictive maintenance, industrial automation, quality and production control

Abstract. The article investigates the vulcanization kinetics of a rubber compound based on chlorinated polyethylene. The first part of the article presents the results of studies on the temperature dependence of the vulcanization rate, conducted using the traditional rheometric method.
The second part examines the kinetics of peroxide vulcanization using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). It is shown that this method is more efficient and less labor intensive compared to the traditionally used one. Moreover, the tests performed demonstrate the feasibility of applying the DSC method to assess the degree of peroxide consumption in a finished cable product, which is impossible when using standard equipment for evaluating process kinetics.
The final section presents the results of physical and mechanical tests of rubber compounds manufactured under conditions determined by different methods. The obtained data confirm the effectiveness of the proposed method and the possibility of adjusting vulcanization conditions using the DSC method, while reducing the duration of this process and achieving the required material properties.
Key words: cross-linked cable materials, chlorinated polyethylene rubber compounds, rubber cable jacket
